Sudharshini B is a neuropsychologist and research fellow at the Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARF), Chennai, where she focuses on developing a palliative care model for advanced dementia in the Indian population. Her project is driven by a deep understanding of the cognitive and emotional challenges faced by dementia patients, their caregivers and health care professionals, aiming to provide compassionate, holistic care that improves the quality of life during the advanced stages of illness.

 Her clinical experience includes working at Dr.Rela Institute & Medical Sciences, Chennai and Bala Neuro Center, Dharmapuri, providing holistic care for patients with complex neurological conditions.In her clinical work, she has extensive specialization with neuropsychological assessments, cognitive rehabilitation, and psychotherapy.

Her expertise spans various neurological conditions including dementia, Parkinson’s disorder, and stroke. She is adept at providing individualized treatment plans that combine cognitive therapies with counseling, particularly for anxiety and depression in patients with neurological conditions. She also emphasizes the importance of caregiver counseling and psychoeducation, recognizing the vital role caregivers play in the therapeutic process.

Sudharshini’s practice also integrates alternative healing methods such as Reiki, complementing her clinical expertise with a holistic approach to mental and physical well-being. Her passion for patient-centered care and ethical practice in clinical settings drives her to bridge the gap between neuroscience and mental health therapy.

During her Master’s in Neuropsychology, Sudharshini conducted research on ‘The Impact of Non-Dominant Hand in Weight on Dual Task Performance: A Comparative Study,’ for which she was honored with the VS Chandrasekhar Pammi Award at ACCS X 2023. This recognition highlights her innovative approach to understanding cognitive function and dual-task performance.
