About the Workshop
In clinical settings, where time is limited but diagnostic accuracy is essential, neurocognitive screening tools like the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and the Addenbrooke’s Cognitive Examination (ACE) have become indispensable. These tools help clinicians make fast, informed decisions regarding cognitive impairments, especially in populations with suspected dementia, stroke, MCI, and other neurological conditions.
This workshop is thoughtfully designed to go beyond theoretical concepts and offer a practical, real-world understanding of MoCA and ACE. It will guide you through the structure, administration, scoring, and interpretation of both tools, helping you understand their unique features and clinical applications.
We will also delve into neuroanatomical correlations of the domains assessed — helping you appreciate how different brain regions relate to specific cognitive deficits. Through case-based discussions, you’ll see how screening results translate into real clinical decisions.
Led by Mr. Sudipta Pal (Neuropsychologist) and Ms. Saradiya Paul (Neuropsychologist), this session combines academic clarity with field-based knowledge — making it a must-attend experience for anyone passionate about brain and behavior sciences.
Workshop Highlights
Demystifying Neurocognitive Screening: All about cognitive screening tools.

Mastering ACE: Addenbrooke’s Cognitive Examination in various clinical settings.
Neuroanatomical Correlations Simplified: Connect cognitive domain with the brain structures.
Screening Key Conditions: Screen for dementia, MCI, stroke-related impairments, and other cognitive disorders.
Apply with Confidence: Work through real-life case examples.
E-Certificate of Participation: All participants will receive a certificate upon completion.
Workshop Description: What will be covered?
- Introduction to Neurocognitive Screening: Understand what sets neurocognitive assessments apart from traditional psychological testing.
- MoCA Overview: Learn the history, structure, and purpose behind the Montreal Cognitive Assessment.
- MoCA Domains and Administration: Explore the key cognitive domains assessed, and understand how to administer, score, and interpret the tool.
- MoCA Licensing & Use Cases: Get clarity on the licensing process and real-world applications in clinical practice.
- ACE Overview: Dive into the Addenbrooke’s Cognitive Examination—its evolution, structure, and core strengths.
- ACE Administration & Interpretation: Learn how to score and interpret ACE, with focus on accuracy and clinical relevance.
- MoCA vs ACE: Compare both tools to determine when and why to use each based on client needs.
- Neuroanatomical Correlations: Understand the brain regions involved in each domain assessed and how dysfunctions appear behaviorally.
- Clinical Case Discussions: Apply your knowledge through real-life case examples and decision-making practice.
